Description of the Job In compliance with Dis-Chem norms and procedures, Dis-Chem Pearls needs casual frontshop assistants to provide customer service at the point of sale while maintaining merchandising standards. Essential: Minimum Requirements Matric or Senior Certificate in Grade 12 with 0–6 months of retail work experience Advantageous: One year of retail job experience and a retail business management certification Description of the Job: Make sure that a wide variety of products are consistently displayed and on the shelves. Keep the inventory on the shelf to make sure it has not gone bad. When necessary, replenish inventory to guarantee optimal sales. In accordance with the customer service out-of-stock list, all customer inquiries regarding out-of-stock items must be followed up on and promptly addressed. Make sure that delivered inventory and/or inventory removed from the storeroom are packaged and kept in the appropriate location. Make sure that all product labels, displays, and prices are accurate at all times, and notify management of any price inconsistencies. Make sure the storage is orderly, clean, and well-maintained. Keep up to date with fresh product knowledge to successfully support clients. When necessary, help with replenishing supplies and items to guarantee optimal sales. When needed, help with back shopping. To avoid any losses, the merchandise needs to be handled with care. When permitted by the Frontshop Leader, exchange merchandise for consumers and accept returned items from customers.
Handle all loyalty cards, including accelerated partners’ cards.
Observe regular operational procedures while placing cash in the drop safe.
Make that a frontshop leader or retail store assistant approves and signs off on any line voids and price adjustments.
Make sure the cash flow is always accurate.
Encourage regular stoke rotation and follow Dis-Chem stock control protocols.
Inform management of low stock levels, out-of-stock items, damaged merchandise, and expired stock.
Help with general stocktaking and stock file counting.
Find any damaged or expired stock and notify management right away.
When necessary, help with the loading and unloading of inventory.
After stock is unpacked, make sure the boxes are flattened and moved to the appropriate location.
Build a professional rapport with clients and offer all clients amiable, considerate, and helpful support and guidance.
Inform management of client complaints and praise.
Follow the company benchmark for client turnover per hour.
Help with both new and existing team members’ training.
Verify the scanning and payment of outgoing stock, items, and scripts.
Cash, checks, vouchers, card slips, line voids, and unfinished dockets are examples of daily takings that should be kept in the till drawer until they are put in the drop safe.
Report unethical or suspicious behavior.
