Purpose

This role plays a pivotal part in IAM Distribution’s strategic ambition to grow Liberty’s risk market share, with a specific focus on the IFA and Group Channels. It is accountable for driving the sales performance of Lifestyle Protector by engaging key stakeholders across these channels—including Sales Leaders, Broker Consultants, Independent Financial Advisers, and SBFC Financial Planners. The role ensures that Liberty’s flagship proposition, Lifestyle Protector, is effectively positioned and promoted in the market. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for maintaining a critical feedback loop into the Product House, shaping future product strategy through insights and intelligence gathered from the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support initiatives that drive risk sales performance and channel enablement.
  • Promote and position the Lifestyle Protector suite with Sales Leaders, Broker Consultants, IFAs, and SBFC Financial Planners.
  • Drive business development efforts and unlock value at a national level by identifying growth opportunities, supporting strategic initiatives, and enabling scalable impact across regions.
  • Identify and articulate propositional gaps in competitor offerings and provide actionable insights.
  • Represent Risk Optimisation in cross-functional forums and strategic engagements.
  • Track and report on key initiatives, market trends, and competitor activity.
  • Consolidate field feedback and market intelligence to inform Product House strategy and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with the Product House on proposition enhancements and innovation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related field (required).
  • A postgraduate qualification such as an Honours degree, MBA, or Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning (advantageous).
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation or an equivalent professional certification.
  • RE5 certification (Regulatory Exam for Representatives), particularly relevant for intermediary engagement.
  • A FAIS-compliant qualification aligned with Category I and II product advice.
  • Proven experience in the life insurance or financial services industry, with a focus on risk product development, distribution, or intermediary engagement.
  • Exposure to product strategy, market intelligence, or business development within a competitive, IFA-driven environment.
